Reentry Services Department
The successful transition of individuals from correctional facilities back into the community requires a significant commitment of time, effort, and resources. At the core of our mission is Reentry Starts Day One. This principle drives every aspect of our work within the Reentry Services Department.
Justice-involved Individuals meet with a reentry team member within 72 hours of their arrival at our correctional center. That visit is critical and leads to the development of a comprehensive Transition Plan by collecting and evaluating key information about each newly committed person who is in our care and custody. The Transition Plan is a working document that provides assessments, staff input, and self-reported data that will guide the individual toward the goal of a successful and sustainable reintegration into the community. From long-term residential placement, employment referrals, medical appointments, to obtaining vital records, the Reentry Services Department's goal is to ensure that everyone leaving the facility has been given every resource and opportunity to succeed. By collaborating closely with Caseworkers and the H.O.P.E. Center to ensure consistent, individualized support throughout every phase of the correctional process.
Individuals who demonstrate strong progress may be considered for participation in the RESTART Program, Reentry Support Through Advanced Rehabilitation Tracking, which includes the use of electronic monitoring. The RESTART team, composed of members from Classification, Reentry, the H.O.P.E. Center, and Community Corrections, is committed to reimagining the Alternative Services Program, including the Electronic Incarceration Program, to enhance accountability and promote long-term rehabilitation.
